We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and that it is the ultimate source of authority in all matters of faith and personal conduct (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21).
Contra Costa Christian Schools promotes a worldview that all spheres of life and learning are under the lordship of Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:15-18). We believe and confess that God shows himself through all he has made, for God has made everything; that God shows himself in justice and mercy over against the sin and evil which has invaded God’s creation (Romans 5:12-15).
We believe that there is only one God, who is eternal and omnipotent, existing in three persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).
We believe that God shows himself most fully in His Son, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:3). We believe in His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35), His deity and humanity (John 10:33-38), His miracles (John 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9), His resurrection to conquer the power of sin and the curse of death (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4, I Peter 1:3), His ascension to God’s right hand (Mark 16:19), and His return on the day of the Father’s choosing to judge all humanity, the living and the dead (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11).
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10).
We believe that one who receives Jesus Christ by faith is born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby becomes reconciled to God (John 14:6, I Peter 1:3).
We believe and confess that Jesus Christ is now gathering and preserving his Church, which is the fellowship of the redeemed, so that her members may be his servants in this world (Ephesians 4:1-12).
This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe, as summarized in the Apostles’ Creed and interpreted in other historical and traditional Reformed creedal writings. For purposes of the School’s faith, doctrine, practice, and discipline, the Contra Costa Christian Schools Board of Directors is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
